The coronavirus pandemic brought the NBA to a sudden halt on March 11 when Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19. At the time, teams were more than 60 games into the 82-game season and preparing for the playoffs.
Four months later, hundreds of NBA players, coaches, and staff have quarantined themselves at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, for the NBA Restart, giving 22 of the league's 30 teams an opportunity to complete the season and win the 2020 NBA Finals.
As of July 20, the NBA reported that none of the 346 players in the NBA Restart "bubble" had tested positive for coronavirus. However, ongoing family concerns, injuries, and logistical issues could still keep some players from joining their teams for the NBA Restart, and the league is allowing players to leave and re-enter the bubble for serious matters, with permission.
NBA Restart scrimmages are exclusive to NBA TV and NBA League Pass
The NBA began airing scrimmage games from the restart bubble on NBA TV and NBA League Pass on July 22 and will air a total of 16 games before July 28. Schedule and scrimmage times are available on NBA.com, though only about half of the 33 scrimmages will be broadcast.

All 22 teams in the NBA Restart bubble will play eight seeding games to determine which 16 teams make this year's playoffs. Seeding games will be played daily through Friday, August 14. The NBA has posted exact schedule information for the games through August 12, including times and available stations. August 15 and 16 will remain open for potential playoff play-in games, if two or more teams are tied in the standings at the end of the regular season.

Meanwhile, Hulu + Live TV includes access to ESPN, ABC, and TNT for $54.99 a month. With that said, Hulu + Live does not offer NBA TV. Finally, Sling TV Orange with the Sports Extra add-on offers access to ESPN, TNT, and NBA TV for $40 a month. ABC, however, is not included with Sling TV.
The NBA Playoffs will start August 17, with the NBA Finals beginning September 30
The NBA Playoffs will begin on August 17, using the standard NBA playoff format. Each seven game playoff series will be played on a shorter schedule than past years, meaning players have less time to rest between games.
The NBA will post dates, times, and network information for playoff games once the playoff bracket and first round matchups are confirmed. The NBA Finals are scheduled to begin on September 30th, and the last possible date for Game 7 of the NBA Finals is October 13, 2020.
